Our Managing Director had an opportunity to visit Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands and spend some time with Richard Branson and the Virgin Unite staff who are working on the Oceans Unite project.
There are many individual projects that can benefit communities and many amazing facts and figures support this. For example, did you know that over 3 billion people worldwide rely on the ocean to provide more than 20% of their daily protein intake.
Here are some of the projects that are currently underway:
- Reduce and remove plastics and other pollution from oceans and waterways
- Improve food supply to end hunger, provide nutrition and provide sustainable agricultural employment
- Address rising sea levels to save communities in low lying islands and homes
